The South West has the best transport service in Western Australia.
That’s the view of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILTA) who awarded South West Coach Lines the WA Transport Award for Excellence last week in Perth.
Accepting the award from Minister for Transport Troy Buswell in front of 400 transport peers, Veolia Transdev WA General Manager Lisa Shreeve said this was recognition to all of the 217 staff who had worked so tirelessly over the past four years to upgrade safety, services and systems.
“We have engaged staff in a huge array of training programs from Customer Service to Ecodrive to Fire Extinguisher use and First Aid Training and they have taken this in their stride, keen to learn new skills so we can provide the safest and best service possible to our customers,” said Ms Shreeve. “To the end of October we have transported 1.67m people to, from and around the South West.”
“We have expanded our services with daily trips to the Perth domestic and international airport and Burswood Entertainment complex, brand new coaches with free Telstra Internet and online bookings 24 hours a day, all to benefit the customer, most of who live in the South West.”
The CILTA judges said they were astounded at how the business had grown and was able to achieve 4801 (Safety), 9001 (Quality Assurance) and 14001 (Environmental) accreditation in three years.
Ms Shreeve said two new initiatives were soon to start in the region which will be very exciting for locals and tourists.
South West Coach Lines was also a finalist in the RSM Bird Cameron Regional Business of the Year Award for 2011.
